Those who want to make a good impression and a fine show in the flesh would try to compel you to receive circumcision, simply so that they may escape being persecuted for allegiance to the cross of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). AMP

As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. KJV

And if anyone enters competitive games, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully (fairly, according to the rules laid down). AMP

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. KJV
