New International Version
22 With two projections set parallel to each other. They made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
23 They made twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle
24 And made forty silver bases to go under them – two bases for each frame, one under each projection.
25 For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, they made twenty frames
26 And forty silver bases – two under each frame.
27 They made six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle
28 And two frames were made for the corners of the tabernacle at the far end.
29 At these two corners the frames were double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both were made alike.
30 So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases – two under each frame.
31 They also made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle
32 Five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle.
33 They made the center crossbar so that it extended from end to end at the middle of the frames.
34 They overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
35 They made the curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim worked into it by expert hands.
36 They made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. They made gold hooks for them and cast their four silver bases.
Amplified Bible
22 Each board had two tenons (projections) to fit into a mortise to form a clutch; he did this for all the boards of the tabernacle.
23 And he made thus the boards [for frames] for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side
24 And he made under the twenty boards forty sockets or bases of silver, two sockets under one board for its two tenons or hands, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.
25 For the other side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty boards
26 And their forty sockets or bases of silver, two sockets under [the end of] each board.
27 And for the rear or west side of the tabernacle he made six [frame] boards.
28 And two boards he made for each corner of the tabernacle in the rear.
29 They were separate below but linked together at the top with one ring; thus he made both of them in both corners.
30 There were eight boards with sixteen sockets or bases of silver, and under [the end of] each board two sockets.
31 He made bars of acacia wood, five for the [frame] boards of the one side of the tabernacle
32 And five bars for the boards of its other side, and five bars for the boards at the rear or west side.
33 And he made the middle bar pass through halfway up the boards from one end to the other.
34 He overlaid the boards and the bars with gold and made their rings of gold as places for the bars.
35 And he made the veil of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff] and fine twined linen, with cherubim skillfully worked. [Matt. 27:50, 51; Heb. 10:19-22.]
36 For [the veil] he made four pillars of acacia [wood] and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold, and he cast for them four sockets or bases of silver.
King James Version
22 One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
23 And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward:
24 And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.
25 And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made twenty boards,
26 And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
27 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.
28 And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.
29 And they were coupled beneath, and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners.
30 And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets.
31 And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
32 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward.
33 And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other.
34 And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
35 And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work.
36 And he made thereunto four pillars of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver.
Becoming a Christian
Would you like to experience forgiveness and new life from the God of the Bible, who calls every person to believe that he sent his son Jesus Christ to make this possible?
The Bible explains why everyone needs to receive forgiveness and is called to serve Jesus Christ. The consistency of the Bible story, which was authored by people living thousands of years apart from diverse cultures and even different languages, is often cited as evidence of divine inspiration. Wikipedia has a list of many Biblical prophesies which have come true.
The story of God's plan to restore his relationship with us can be summarised in eight famous Bible verses below.
- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
- All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
- God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
- Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6
- If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
- For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8
- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19
The truth in these verses is simple, yet to embrace it means letting go of all our personal hopes and dreams and embracing God's greater purpose for our lives instead, a purpose far above anything we could dream or imagine.
This is the most important decision you will ever make, because it affects not just the rest of your life here on earth, but what comes after as well. Don't put it off until too late. If you died tonight make the decision to spend eternity with your loving Father in Heaven.
